Description:
Create a new shape by offseting the selected element with a given distance.
![]()
General philosophy:
Select the reference shape (solid or surface).
Give the global offset (can be positive or negative).
Confirm with the SAME OFFSET FOR ALL FACES button.
Available option(s):
When the offset value is
too big and the offset shape would intersect itself, the computation in
accurate mode will fail. In this case, you can use the option Mode=
APPROXIMATIVE to
get a truncated shape (without auto-intersection).![]()
You can give a different
distance for some faces by giving this distance in the cell "Offset for special faces" then
selecting these faces.
Available modification(s):
By using the icon
, you can:
Change the global distance and the computation mode.
Use the option Face type= SPECIAL to affect specific distance to the selected faces.
