Menu access: Shape | Unite
Description:
Allows you to unite a shape with other shapes.
![]()
General philosophy:
Select the shape(s) to modify.
Select the shape(s) to unite with.
Available option(s):
You can apply union locally by using
only some faces of the tool or the shape to modify with the LOCAL OPERATION
button.
The Hide
tools= YES or
NO
option
allows you to set the subtracted shape invisible or not after the subtraction.
The Follow=
SUBSEQUENT OPERATIONS or
EXISTING
OPERATIONS allows
you to make the union evolve or not after its creation if you modify afterward
the tools (addition or subtraction of operations such as pocket, drilling...)

You can enter a radius
in order to compute a fillet on the intersection edges of the operation.![]()
Specific point(s):
If you have different surfaces
representing a close volume (they have common boundaries), you will use
the sewing function (Shape | Other Operation
| Sew) on them to get a solid shape. If you use the unite function,
the result will still be a closed surface.
If you design a part
by creating half or portion of it and you want to complete it using a
duplication (Shape | Duplicate) and union (Shape | Unite), it is better
to directly use the Shape
| Other operations | Pattern function.
