Replace geometry
Menu access : Shape | Manage | Replace geometry
Description :
Allows you to replace a shape by another. The resulting shape is a basic shape.
![]()
General philosophy :
Select the shape to replace.
Select the replacing shape.
Define the transformation that bring the replacing shape over the shape to replace.
Confirm with OK .
Available option(s):
To be able to do the replacement,
TopSolid needs to virtually superpose the two elements. So you must indicate
it how to position them. To do this, several options are available:
Simply select two points to define the translation vector that brings the shape to replace over the replacing shape.
NO TRANSFORMATION : This option can be used if the two shapes are already superposed in the same document or if they are in different documents but identically positioned according to the absolute coordinate system of each document.
TRANSLATION : Allows you to use the "translation" transformation to position the shapes.
COORDINATE SYSTEM TRANSFORMATION : This option allows you to select a coordinate system for the shape to replace and an other one for the replacing shape. Both coordinate systems are then virtually superposed in order to do the replacement of the shape.
FACE FACE TRANSFORMATION : This option allows you to select a face of the shape to replace and a face of the replacing shape. Both faces are then virtually superposed in order to do the replacement of the shape.
Specific point(s):
The resulting shape
is a basic shape; even if the replacement shape is not.
