Replace face (associative)

Menu access : Shape | Surfacic / boolean operations | Replace face

Description :

Allows you to replace a face of a shape with another surface. This operation is associative and appear in the construction tree.

See also : Replace face (non associative)

General philosophy :

  1. Select the face you want to replace.

  2. Select replacing sheet.

  3. Validate with  OK  .

Available option(s):

the option  Hide tools = YES   or  NO  allows you to blank or not the tool surface use as replacing sheet.

If you whish to make coincident specific edges (between the old face and the new one) you can set this correspondence after selecting the replacing sheet:

If you do not validate with  OK , the question  Edge to replace  is asked. Select one of the edges of the face to replace. Then select the corresponding edge on the replacing sheet.

The feature can also be useful in the case the replacing fails because the edges geometry is too complex. This way, you can precisely set which edges must fit together.

Example(s):

Red : face to replace.

Yellow: replacing sheet..
