Helical slot

Description :
Allows to create an helical slot on a cylinder.
General philosophy:
Select the cylindrical face.
Select the reference plane (that is used to position the slot).
If needed, click on the red arrow to invert the direction and validate with OK .
Set the parameters of the slot in the dialog box and validete.

In the dialog box, the "complementary
parameters" tab contains specific options:
Arcs: allows to define if the arcs at the extremities of the slot are created inside or outside the angle measurement.
Direction: allows to set the direction of the spiral.
Through: if the part is hollow, you can ask for the slot to through the part thickness.
Modify angular origin: if this option is activated when vilidateing the dialog box, TopSolid will ask you an angular value to position the origin of the slot around the cylinder. It is also possible (instead of giving a numerical value) to directly click on the cylindrical face (a red line with the angular value appear when mouse is moved over the cylindrical face).
Specific point(s):
The
reference plane must be normal to the axis cylinder.
