Parametric trim
Menu access: Shape | Manage | Parametric trim
Description:
Allows to redefine the trimming curves of a surface.
![]()
Principle :
The idea of this function is to "repair" an invalid surface by redefining its trimming curves then recreate the surface using the new curves.
General philosophy :
Once the function activated, click on the button EDIT PARAMETRIC TRIMMING then select the surface to process.
A new document appears with the trimming curves U and V of the selected face in it. Rebuild the curves using the curves construction functions.
Come back in the document which contains the surface and reactivate the function "Parametric trim".
Now, select the surface (at the question "Face to trim:").
Select in the new document, the new trimming curves.
Specific point(s) :
If one of the selected shape
is not basic (without associativity), TopSolid will ask you if you want
to basify them. If you answer "No", the function is stopped.
The document in which you
create the new curves does not need to be saved; no links are created
between this two files.
