Imprint

See also: Imprint silhouettes.

Menu access: Shape | Surfacic / boolean operations | Imprint

Description:

Allows you to "imprint" a curve on one or several faces of a shape. The imprint operation is like projecting a curve to a face, with a topological link between the face and the curve. The imprinted curve becomes and edge of the face.

General philosophy:

  1. Select the shape to modify.

  2. Select the curve to imprint.

  3. Define the projection direction of the curve.

  4. Select the faces of the shape to consider for the imprint operation. (selecting  OK will automatically select all the faces of the shape).

Available option(s):

You can imprint on a shape its own silhouette using the  SILHOUETTES  button.

The  Hide tools= YES  or  NO  option allows you to set the curve invisible or not after the imprinting.

Specific point(s):

 In the cases the curve is closed or overflow on both side of the face the imprint operation will create new faces.
