You can define the type of the drilling in the following dialog box.

Select a drilling type to get more informations about it.

Tapping is a drilling elementary operation without drilling. It can be combined with other drilling operation to customize your drilling features. You can also use it on an existing drilling.

When using this drilling feature alone TopSolid asks you to select a cylindrical face to apply the taping on.

The parameters you can modify for the tapping are:

Standard - choice of the tapping standard.

Diameter - defines the tapping diameter.

Depth - for blind tapping only defines the threaded depth.

Through - the threading goes through the complete part.

Simplified - displays the drilling in a simplified way (only the drilling axis will appear).

Axis - displays the drilling axis.

Other parameters:

Pitch - to customize your pitch (only available if the tapping automatic mode is disable).

Thread number -number of thread on your tapping (only available if the tapping automatic mode is disable).

Direction - you can choose your thread direction between right and left way
