Types of drilling

You can define the type of the drilling in the following dialog box.

 

Select a drilling type to get more informations about it.

The parameters you can modify are

For the hole are:

Blind - the hole is not supposed to go through the complete part and you can enter a drilling depth.

Through one - the hole will go through the first wall of your part.

Through all - the hole will go through the complete part.

Depth - is only accessible when using a blind hole, you enter the drilling depth you want. This depth can be defined to the end of the cylindrical portion of the drilling or to the tip point of the drilling.

Diameter - defines the drilling diameter.

Bottom angle - is only accessible when using a blind hole, you enter the bottom angle of your drilling.

Simplified - displays the drilling in a simplified way (only the drilling axis will appear).

Axis - displays the drilling axis.

For the tapping:

Standard - choice of the tapping standard.

Diameter - defines the tapping diameter.

Depth - for blind tapping only defines the threaded depth.

Through - the threading goes through the complete part.

Other parameters:

Pitch - to customize your pitch (only available if the tapping automatic mode is disable).

Thread number -number of thread on your tapping (only available if the tapping automatic mode is disable).

Direction - you can choose your thread direction between right and left way.

For the countersink are:

Diameter - countersink diameter.

Angle - defines the countersign angle.

Simplified - displays the counterbore in a simplified way (only the counterbore axis will appear).

Axis - displays the counterbore axis
