Dome

Menu access: Shape | Other shapes | Dome

Description:

Allows you to create a dome shape with one guide curve and one (or more) section curve(s).

General philosophy:

  1. Select the guide curve (that will be the base of the dome).

  2. Select the section(s) curve(s) and confirm with  OK .

Available option(s):

When curves are closed, you can choose the type of shape to create with the option  Type= SOLID  or  SURFACE TYPE . When you choose the solid type, the created shape will be solid if possible. If not, not any message will appear.

The option  Curves= VISIBLE  or  HIDDEN  allows you to keep visible or not the curves after the dome is created.

The list allows you to choose the correspondence between the curves

 The option allows you to choose the type of synchronization between the curves.

The option  MAKE SECTIONS  allows you to generate the sections (non associative) that would be used to create the dome. In this case the dome is not made. These sections can be used to give you an idea of the shape that would be generated. They can as well be used as section curves to improve or modify the dome.

The  DIRECTION  allows you to choose another direction for the dome axis (represented by a red dotted line).

TopSolid automatically choose an axis by the following way:

Example(s):

Specific point(s):

The dome axis is used as reference to calculate the sections of the dome. It can be compared with a revolution axis.

 The section curves can be selected in any order.

The section curves must meet together at the same point: the top of the dome.

If the guide curve is open:
