Boss
Menu access: Shape | Boss
Description:
Allows you to create boss features on solid parts.

General philosophy:
Select the reference face for the boss.
Select the planar contour to use as the base of the boss operation.
The dialog box that appears allows you to choose the different boss parameters.

Available option(s):
The CURVE
IN PLACE can
be used if the curve is on the top of the "future boss". In
this case, the height of the boss is not asked.
You can hide or not the curve
by using the Hide
curves= YES or
NO
option.
You can impose a boss direction
different from the normal to the reference face by selecting the EXTRUSION
DIRECTION button.
The NEW
CONTOUR button
allows you to directly create a contour to be used as the boss base contour.
Specific point(s):
You can select a text as boss
base contour.
You can select several curves by
using the
icon in order to create different boss sharing
the same parameters from the same reference face.
If you want to create
a boss using a curve parallel to the edges of a face, or if you want your
boss top face to be parallel to the starting free form face, you can use
the Shape
| Other operations | Extrude function. This function
will extrude a face with the option of giving an offset distance from
the edges.
