Camera editor

 

The camera editor can be use to :

 

Modify the orientation of a view:

Steps:

  1. Activate the function with the icon : .

  2. Click into the view you want to modify the orientation (a dialog box appear).

  3. Select the orientation you want in the list.

  4. Click on the        QUIT       button to close the dialog box.

Example:

 

Set the orientation of the top view:

You can set the orientation of the top view through the camera editor. The other view (left, right, front...) are displayed according to the top view.

This definition of the top view orientation is effective only when using the function "Orient view" .

  It does not affect the other function as "Top view"  or "Perspective view" .

Steps:

  1. Activate the function with the icon : .

  2. Click on any view to activate the view orientations list (a dialog box appear).

  3. Click the  Define top view  button.

  4. Select the coordinate system to use as top view (the XY plane of the coordinate system).

  5. Click on the        QUIT       button to close the dialog box.

Example:

 

Create a new view orientation:

You can create a personal view orientation (for example:  specific conic view).

The view orientation is defined by several parameters available in the dialog box:

Eye:

It is the position of the camera. It is defined according to the absolute coordinate system.

Viewpoint:

It is the point aimed at by the camera. It is defined according to the absolute coordinate system.

Vertical vector:

Set the orientation of the camera around the axis "Eye / Viewpoint.

Clipping:

Allow to filter the visualisation of all the elements placed over a given distance ahead and behind the viewpoint.

Projection type:

Allows to choose if you want an isometric or conic view.

The "Field of view" allows to set the angular opening of the view.

 

You can also set the camera dynamically instead of entering values. To do this, use the camera representation on the other views than the one you are configurating.

a: To move the eye position.

b: To turn the view point around the eye position without modifying the distance between them.

c: To bring closer or move away the eye from the view point.

d: To move the viewpoint.

e: To set the vertical vector of the camera.

f: To change the  field of view.

g et h: To raise or reduce the clipping distance on the front an the back of the viewpoint.

 

Steps:

  1. Activate the function with the icon : .

  2. Click on the view in which you want to create a new orientation view (a dialog box appear).

  3. Into the "camera parameters" tab, set your orientation view.

  4. Into the "standard cameras" tab, click on  Save current  and give a name for this new camera.

  5. Click on the       QUIT      button to close the dialog box.

A personal orientation view belongs to the document. You can use it only in its creation document.

 

Update a user view:

You can update settings of a user view.

Steps:

  1. Activate the function with the icon : .

  2. Click on any view to activate the view orientations list (a dialog box appear).

  3. Select the user view to update.

  4. Into the "camera parameters", modify your parameters.

  5. Come back into the "standard cameras" et click on the  Update  button.

  6. Click on the       QUIT      button to close the dialog box.
