Main view of a pipe line

Menu access: Piping | Main view

Description:

Allows you to create a main view of a pipeline with specific options as neutral fiber visualisation or the triangles.

General philosophy:

  1. Select the coordinate system in the 3D document to use for the 2D view orientation.

  2. Select the pipeline to project.

  3. Set the options of the dialog box and confirm.

  4. Position the projected view in your TopSolid/Draft document.

Available option(s):

The button  ABSOLUTE COORDINATE SYSTEM  allows you to select the absolute coordinate system as reference for the 2D view orientation.

The option  Follow= EXISTING OPERATIONS  or  SUBSEQUENT OPERATIONS  allows you to set the associativity level of the 2d view with the 3d document.

Once you selected the elements to project, the following dialog box appear, allowing you to set the projection parameters.

The descriptions of the options are here:

Specific point(s):

The projection keeps the B-spline curves of the 3D shapes. If you want these curves to be converted into curves made of lines and arcs after the projection, you must tick the option "Rebuild projected B-splines" in the file properties (projection parameters) or in the "Tool | Options" menu.

If you activate this option, it may be a small difference between the projected curves and the ones defined by the 3D model. This mode may also lightly increase the projection calculation time.
