Excel link
Menu access: Parameter | Excel link
Description:
Allows you to import or export existing parameter values from or to an Excel file.
![]()
General philosophy:
If the Excel file you want to use doesn't exist, you need to create it first using Excel.
You have to give
a name to each cell corresponding to parameter.("TOP_parameter name"
)
Save and close the file. Choose the Excel file to open by using the Parameter / Excel link function.
Excel program starts, switch to TopSolid.
Choose between importing and exporting values.
You can use other functions and import or export parameters at any time.
Specific point(s):
This function does not create any
parameter.
You need to save the Excel file after
you make modifications (before importation and after exportation)
The corresponding cells to a parameter
must be named "TOP_parameter name".
The $ characters are forbidden in
Excel cell names.
It's not possible to make an Excel
link with two parameters named "D" and "d" because
Excel doesn't make the difference between major and minor characters.
Texts can be driven too (import and
export mode), for this texts have to be named (with the Edit | Name function) and the Excel
cell too using the same syntax as parameters. By this way, you can drive
all the title block information (general and user informations) with an
Excel file, you just have to name the Excel cells using the syntax "TOP_informationname"
(ex : TOP_title1).
