Description:

Allows you to save different elements of your current document into a separate file.

General philosophy :

  1. Select the elements to store.

  2. Select the reference coordinate system of the object to save (or choose STORE WITHOUT POSITIONING to store the selected elements with the current coordinate system as the reference coordinate system).

  3. Select the replacement method and click OK.

  4. Enter the file name.

Or

  1. Choose the ONE PART PER FILE option to store automatically the shape of the document.

  2. Choose the naming method in the list

  1. Select the shape or choose the ALL SHAPE OF SET to store automatically all the shape of the set even the standard and personal component (this question is not asked with the ASK FOR EVERY SHAPE option).

  2. Select the reference coordinate system of the object to save (or choose STORE WITHOUT POSITIONING to store the selected elements with the current coordinate system as the reference coordinate system) and the replacement method (this question is not asked with the ASK FOR EVERY SHAPE option)

Available option(s):

The list allows you to choose the degree of breaking associativity to apply on the object to store :

The list allows you to manage the layers names in the document to store :

The Replace the stored shape by a component= YES option allows you to replace the selected elements to store by their corresponding components. This a very nice way to work if you want to start your assembly as define on place (in the same file) and at one point you decide to separate each part into separate files for concurrent engineering purpose.
