Rendering options

All the parameters listed below are available for each document, however their initial value can be set using the Tools | Options function.

The static mode is applied to images, the dynamic mode is used during rotations and translation of the image.

Because high image quality increase the time to compute image, it is not necessary to set a high quality in dynamic mode.

Textures quality :

In realistic mode, these cursor allows to improve the texture quality.

Image in high quality

The contour of the element of the texture is coarse.

The contour of the element of the texture is smooth.

Transparence quality :

In render mode, these options allows to improve the transparency quality.

No transparency

The part transparency is not used.

Parts are transparent but it is not possible to see hidden faces of the transparent part.

Parts are transparent and it is possible to see hidden faces of the transparent part.

As High quality mode with an improvement of the contour of the transparent parts.

The transparency of a part can be modifed using the Attribute | Transparency function.

Antialiasing :

In realistic mode, this cursor allows to smooth the elements contour.

Without antialiasing

antialiasing improves seriously the time to compute an image.

Frame rate :

Allows to force the frame rate in dynamic mode. If you set it to a high value, according to the possibilities of your graphics board, TopSolid can remove some parts to reach the given speed .

You can use the U_DYNAMIC_RATE     1 keyword to display the frame rate.

The "Use simplified display in dynamic" options allows to replace each part by its enclosing block, it allows to save displaying time when you work with a big assembly.

Bump :

In realistic mode, these options allows to improve the bump quality.

No bump

Precise bump

Background :

In realistic mode only, it is possible to put an image in background of your document.

Then, you have to choose the display type :

Facetting :

Allows to improve the facetting of the parts, this options is used by TopSolid/Image.

Shadows :

Allows to activate the shadows computation in realistic mode.

The shadows computation always use the high quality facetting mode.

Volumetric lighting :

With TopSolid/Image only, allows to add a fog effect to a point light or a spot.

This effect is not visible with a white background and it is also needed to tick the "Enable volumetric lighting" option when you define the light (see Tools | Light).
