Description :

Allows you to open an existing document.

General philosophy :

The windows below allow you to select the document:

The combo "Files of type" allow you to open other file format (DWG, DXF, IGES, ...).

You can change the default directory with the Tools | Options function.

When documents linked to an assembly (or a drafting) has been moved or deleted, TopSolid (or TopDraft) propose you to search them with an explorer.

You can create your own filter type by adding a keyword in your TOP.CFG file.

You can stop the loading of any file with the Escape key. After validation of the confirmation message,the loading will stop and no document will be opened.

When the index of one or several referenced document has been modified, a dialog box allowing to update (reroute) the document to open is displayed :

  • All the links of the document to open are rerouted to the documents which have the higher index.

  • The document is opened without taking into account the index modifications of the referenced documents.

  • For each referenced document where the index has been modified, TopSolid ask if you want to reroute to the the document which have the higher index.

The display of this dialog box can be de-activated, you have to add the following line D_COMPO_DO_NOT_ASK_INDEX <tab> 0 into your TOP.CFG file (no index will be updated).
