3D assembled component modification
Menu access: Edit | Modify
![]()
In the most case, run the Edit
| Modify function, pick a 3D assembled component and choose an
option :
AUXILIARY ELEMENTS to add or remove auxiliary elements (TopSolid open the document for selecting elements).
ATTRIBUTES to change graphical, physical and layer attributes.
TEMPLATE to edit template (for modifying the geometry definition of the component).
KINEMATICS to import the rigid subsets and the joints defined in the components. Activate the desired imports (it is possible to import only the rigid subsets, without the joints, which could then be redefined in assembly). It should be noted that this importation is completely associative: if the components are modified, the imported joints will be automatically updated. As the imported rigid subsets are also updated automatically, it is not possible to modify them manually to include other parts inside them. This is why, to make them rigid with another part (possibly itself belonging to another rigid subset, which will then be entirely rigid with the first subset), a new joint was added: the weld joint.
If you use variant, version or representation
in the template document name, when you run the Edit
| Modify function on a 3D assembled component, TopSolid add an
option in the above list :
INTERCHANGE to interchange the component by another one in the same family with a different variant, version or representation.
