Welding symbol

Menu access: Detailing | Surface finish symbol

Description :

Allows to create a welding symbol on an element.

General philosophy :

2D symbol creation :

  1. Pick a point or a curve.

  2. The dialog box below allows you to adjust the values of the welding symbol :

  • After entering a value, hit the tabulation key, the welding symbol will be automatically updated in the previsualization area.

  1. Locate your symbol.

  2. Locate another point to create a second arrow or click on the STOP button to quit the function.

3D symbol projection :

Choose the PROJECTED SYMBOL option.

Pick a view (where the symbols will be created).

Pick an element of the welding bead or choose the AUTOMATIC option to create all the welding symbols.

Locate your symbol.

Possible modification(s) :

With the Edit | Modify element function you can modify all the creation parameters and the symbol position. For projected symbols, you must tick the "Force values" option to be able to make manual modifications, then the modifications made on the 3D document will not been reported on the projected symbol. The "Restore values" button cancel all the manual modifications and re-link the projected symbol on 3D welding bead of the 3D document.

With the Edit | Move function you can move the symbol along its reference curve.
