Redefine positioning
Menu access: Assembly | Redefine positioning
Description:
Allows you to position the component.
![]()
General philosophy:
Select the component to position.
Position the component by clicking the origin coordinate system then the destination coordinate system or use the intuitive constraint and magnetic positioning by clicking the origin face and the destination face:
Cone / Plane
Cone / Cone
Sphere / Cone
Cylinder / Cylinder
Cone / Cylinder
Sphere / Cylinder
Sphere / Plan
Sphere / Sphere
Edge / Edge
...
Specific point(s):
You can solve particular case
of positioning by using the following list:

The REDEFINE
CONSTRAINTS allows you to suppress all positioning constraints
and redefine them if you want.
For standards component of TopSolid
library, you can use more options for positioning: key points, direction,
angle of rotation...
It is also possible
to modify quickly the positioning of a component by using the
icon and by using the POSITIONNING
button.
The DELAY
COMPONENT CREATION button allows to change the positioning mode
in order to decrease the processing time indeed, in the case calculation
is too long for a complex component, processing will be done every time
you add a positioning constraint (intuitive and magnetic positioning). The
other mode accessible through this button asks for all the constraints
once for all and then calculates the component and its position. In this
mode, the user-friendliness is poorer but processing time is optimum.
