Define extruded component

Menu access : Assembly | Define component | Define extruded component

Description :

Allows you to define your own extruded component on witch you can use process as MITRE CUT, MAIN CUT or PLANAR CUT

General philosophy :

  1. Create a coordinate system and set it as current

  2. Use the Edit | name function to name this frame fr1

  3. Create an closed contour (in a way that the coordinate system fr1 remains approximately in the center of the contour).

  4. Name each parameters

  5. Create a duplicated coordinate system of fr1 (by translation along Z+ and lg=100 as distance)

  6. Name this new coordinate system fr2.

  7. Create a line between the two coordinate systems

  8. Extrude the contour using the line as direction and click on the second coordinate system to give the length.

  9. Add the part to the set using the Assembly | define part function.

  10. Define at least one point as key point using the Assembly | Define component | Define key point function.

  11. Save the component in your library using the Assembly | Define component | Edit/save template function.

  12. Use the Assembly | Define extruded component function and select your extruded shape. Then save the file.

  13. Create a catalog using the Assembly | Define component | Edit catalog header function.

  14. Include the component using the Assembly | Include standard function. Click two points to position it.

Specific points :

This type of component allows you to position extruded component along a contour and to create MITRE CUT, MAIN CUT or PLANAR CUT

To create MITRE CUT, MAIN CUT... use the Assembly | Use process  function

Example :

Available modification(s):
