Cutting definition

Purpose

Cut following a profile is a straight  cut. This cut allows to manufacture several areas of the same profile, in a single operation with different power settings. This cut is made with movements following two axes.

Understanding the function

This cut will be consisted of two kinds of area:

It's of course possible to have more than one main area (X main areas for example) and also more than one partial area (Y partial areas for example).

A partial area  is bounded with two points of the profile (extremity of an element or point of the profile) called commutation points. These  commutation points can be deleted with the icon

Every type of area  (main and partial areas) have their own power settings which are different of course (to be able to apply for example more finishing cuts in one area!) . In this case, it's possible to define a specific power setting called quick settings to be able to link a power setting of the partial area with another one between the commutation point. For example :

It's so necessary to define :

How to use

Case 1 : With duplication

  1. Select the menu ‘Wire operation |  Partial areas |  A profile’.

  2. Click on the  DUPLICATION  icon.

  3. Select the master partial area operation to use on the graphic area. In this case, the two cuts are linked together. If the user change one parameter of one cut, the two cuts are updated..

  4. Click the profile to use.

  5. Define the material side direction.

  6. Define the height of cut by inputting a Z value or by clicking a face.

  7. Select the commutations points for the partial areas two by two (start and end) and click on the STOP button when all the partial areas are defined.

  8. Select the parameters for the cut operations  (Roughing, finishing). By default the master parameters are shown in the dialog box.

Case 2 : Without duplication

  1. Select the menu ‘Wire operation |  Partial areas |  A profile’.

  2. Click the profile to use.

  3. Define the material side direction.

  4. Define the height of cut by inputting a Z value or by clicking a face.

  5. Select the commutations points for the partial areas two by two (start and end) and click on the STOP button when all the partial areas are defined.

  6. Select on the tec file the required power settings (operations) to use for the

  7. Select the parameters for the cut operations  (Roughing, finishing).
