Forming punch

Progressive die | Punches and dies | Forming punch
Description:
Creates a forming punch by using the faces to be formed.
General procedure:
Select the profil for body punch.
Choose a face for define the height of the punch, or choose a manual distance.
Select the trimming surface and determine the side to delete with the arrow.
Define the shoulder characteristics of the punch in the dialog box.
Then define the characteristics of the body, the head and the machining processes.
Click on the different fields of the image below
Available option(s):
NEW CONTOUR:
This option allows to create a new contour on the strip (create a link
with the TopSolid contour function)
Automatic direction = YES
: The automatic extrusion direction of the punch in the die base coordinate
system Z+. It is possible to modify it for create the punches in a particular
direction. Give the chosen direction regarding the current frame.
Automatic orientation = YES
: The automatic orientation direction of the punch in the die base coordinate
system X+. This orientation allows to determine the orientation of the
head frame.
Hide profil = YES:
Allows to hide the profil used to create the punch.
MANUAL
DISTANCE : Allows to give manually the height of the punch. This
option is advised for more stability.
Hide shape = YES:
Allows to hide the surface used to trim the punch.
Particular remark(s):
The name
of the punch is define in Tools | Options
| Progressive tool | Punch(es). Then the name is incremented in every
new punch.
Possible modification(s):
Using the
modify 
function
on the punch will allow you to:
PARAMETERS of the punch: This option re-open the forming punch parameters windows.
DIRECTION of the punch: It is possible to choose an another direction after the creation of the punch.
ORIENTATION of the punch: It is possible to choose an another orientation after the creation of the punch.
TRIMMING SURFACE: It is possible to realize an another trimming on an existing punch with a chosen surface.
EXTRACT TRIMMING : When a trimming was realized you can extract this trimming.
