Icon access: ![]()
Menu access: -
Description:
Allows to manage the processes on components TopSolid'Mold.
The standard components are positioned
with their associated processes if the automatic process mode is active.
For the custom components (as the cavity blocks, the inserts,
the slides, the guiding
rails, the back locks) , it is
for the user to decide at when during the project the process
has to be created
and associated to the component.

General procedure:
Choose the mode to use:
Select the component to edit. Clicking on COMPONENT WITHOUT PROCESS, you will be applying the chosen mode (generally Creation) to all the component that have not any "machining" process yet.
Special remarks:
If after a modification a component
has "machined" another element, you will have to regenerate
its process.
If after a modification the process
has not follow its component or it is not longer present regenerate
it before the component is deleted!
Icon access: ![]()
Menu access: -
Description:
Allows to add clearance on the faces of a mold element.

Menu access: -
Description:
Allows to manage the assemblies Mold, ASide and BSide.
General procedure:
Choose the sub-assembly where you want to place the element.
Select the element.
You can visualize all the NON AFFECTED elements.
You can also EXTRACT certain elements from the mold.
It will be necessary to extract from
the mold assembly ALL the elements
that have served as tools in, for example, operations
of union or subtraction. If this is not done, these elements will appear
in the 2D layout and will be present in the bill of materials. They can
also be annoying when managing the processes.
![]()
Special remarks:
The designation by sub-assembly allows
also to manage the visualization filters.
Using this function will allow to
do a multi-selection
.
Icon access: ![]()

General procedure:
Choose the visualization attribute.
Select the element.
Special remarks:
The designation by categories
will also allow to manage the visualization filters.
Using this function will allow to
do a multi-selection
.
It will not be possible to create
new categories.
Bill of material properties
Menu access: -
Description:
Allows to manage the properties of the component that will be integrated in the bill of material.
General procedure:
Select a component.
Fill the data in the dialog box.
Use OK on the material references to validate the component. If you want to select another one restart again at point 2.
Once you have finished, OK (in line with the button CANCEL).
Special remarks:
The 3D will drive the 2D. Where possible
manage the characteristics of the
bill of materials on the 3D document. There is always the possibility
of manually modify the bill of materials
on the 2D document.
The stock dimensions
are not associative.
Icon access: ![]()
Menu access: -
Description:
Allows to copy components after they have been inserted.
See also the function Duplication of component.

General procedure:
Select the component to be copied.
Choose among the proposed transformations.
QUIT. At this moment the system will indicate the position of the component in reference to the mold base center.
Available modifications:
You can modify the components with
or
.
Once you exit the function with QUIT, the program will indicate the position of the
component in reference to the mold base center.
This means that the transformation
is not editable afterwards.
Special remarks:
The copied components have positions
and characteristics of their own.
There is NOT
ANY link between "parent" components and their "children".
![]()
The cavity blocks are not considered
as components. The function Copy Components
is not applicable to these elements.
Icon access: ![]()
Menu access: -
Description:
Allows to duplicate components after they have been inserted.
You can also see the reference
Copy
of components.

General procedure:
Choose among the proposed transformations.
Manage the transformation mode:
By default, the system will propose FOLLOW EXISTING OPERATIONS
ONLY THE
MODE FOLLOW SUBSEQUENT OPERATIONS ALLOWS TO DUPLICATE STANDARD COMPONENTS.
Select the destination layer.
Select one or more components to duplicate.
You can select one or various
components for the same multi-cavity operation. So you will be able to:
or
Build a cavity with all its components included
(ejector pins, screws, etc...) and then duplicate all those elements in
one action ![]()
or
Position a screw on a sliding rail, which
at the same time has been duplicated, apply a linear transformation to
obtain a complete fixation of the rail, then duplicate in reference to
the axis of the slide and duplicate to get the final result ![]()
Once the component has been duplicated, there is the possibility of selecting the result of a precedent duplication as type of transformation. The system will then apply the same duplication to the component that has been selected.
Available options:
Modify the components with
or
.
TopSolid'Mold allows to change the
mode of the followed operations on the construction tree, even after a
transformation.
General remarks:
The duplicated components have their
positioning an characteristics attached to the base components.
So there is ONE
link between the parent and children component.
![]()
In case of drawing a cooling system in one element; it is
recommended to duplicate the elements before the drawing of the system.
Then use the function duplicate cooling
system to duplicate the cooling system on the duplicated component.
In case of duplicating an element
containing a cooling circuit the circuit will not be recognize as such
and the positioning of the component will only be allowed on faces.
Also it will not be possible to manage that
circuit (if it is not by intervening on the parent element).
ONLY THE MODE FOLLOW SUBSEQUENT OPERATIONS ALLOWS TO DUPLICATE
STANDARD COMPONENTS.

Menu access -
Description:
Helps you to duplicate the core/cavity blocks an to manage their processes.
This function is ONLY
done for the core/cavity blocks. For the other mold elements, please the
copy of components or the duplication of components.
General procedure:
Select the block to duplicate.
Input the informations in PROPAGATION to define it correctly.
If you need it, set the processes. Click on PROCESS.
The software applies these processes
to the 4 corners of the final blocks.
Available modification(s):
You cna modify the core/cavity blocks
and their processes with
.
If you want to delete a multi-cavity,
you must use the function Edit | Explode
and select one of the block of the multi-cavity.
Specific point(s):
To duplicate the cavities, you can
choose the lower or the upper block.
Once you did the multi-cavity, the
initial block becomes:
Processed core/cavity block
the other blocks become:
Duplicated core/cavity block
You can check this during the modification or in the symbolic tree.
The process in the plate is now a
pocket.

Menu access: Management | Kinematics
Description:
Allows to animate your mold design, without having to define joints, rigid sets, scenario linked to these elements.
General procedure:
This kinematics is like the main "pattern" of your kinematics. You can add:
your joints
your rigid sets
The only constraint is : you must have a TopSolid'Mold moldbase inserted in your design.
Available modification(s):
Please check the TopSolid'Design
on line help about the scenario edition.
Specific point(s):
The TopSolid'Mold kinematics works only if you got a TopSolid'Pro
licence, that includes the kinematics module.
The kinematics menu does not have to be inactive.
Please contact your retailers for any further informations.
The animation works only with mold
file that have been created in a greater or equal version of TopSolid
2006 (v6.7.250).
The joints of the mold elements are
automatically computed regarding the ejection stroke
and the moldbase properties.
The opening stroke
of the mold is computed by the software.

The joints of the mold elements are
automatically computed regarding the ejection stroke
and the moldbase properties.
You must start a first time the animation
to compute the scenario.
The opening stroke
of the mold is computed by the software.
Icon access: ![]()
Menu access: Management | Kinematics | Duplicate state
Description:
Allows to quickly get the 2 main positions of your mold design : open mold and ejected part.
General procedure:
Let visible at screen the parts you want to manage.
Launch the function.
Select the moment to duplicate : MOLDBASE OPEN or PART EJECTED.
Select the result layer.
OK.
Specific point(s):
Once a moment duplicated, you can
only duplicate the "other".
To duplicate a moment, you have to
compute your scenario and save your mold file.
If you want to duplicate a specific
moment, you can of course use the duplicate
state of the TopSolid'Design kinematics.
Icon access: ![]()
Menu access: Management | Kinematics | Rebuild the scenario
Description:
Allows to rebuild the scenario regarding the modifications done in the mold design.
General procedure:
If you made a lot of massive modifications in your design, and your kinematics does not follow these modifications, your scenario has not been updated. , Then launch the function to rebuild it.
