Menu access: Part
Description:
Allows to analyze, modify and manage the loading of the plastic part.
Before loading
the part, please not the "essentials" about the part to inject
.

Icon access: ![]()
Menu access: -
Description:
Allows the loading of the part into TopSolid'Mold.
General procedure:
If your TopSolid'Design containing the part to load is not open, a button EXPLORE allows you to navigate in your projects.
Select the part to load.
To change focus to documents from
a window to another use the CTRL+TAB
key stroke.

The following possibilities would be presented: Control of part positioning with Direct positioning or Manual positioning, the MATERIAL of the part and control of the shrinkage factor with DIFFERENTIAL or entering a value for a global shrinkage factor.
Available options:
When several parts have to be loaded
to the same mold file we recommend to use to use positioning
on coordinate system.
A warning
can be activated during the insertion of the part to check your shrinkage
factor value.
Available modifications:
The shrinkage factor of the plastic
part can always be modified at any time during the project by opening
the construction tree and editing the part.

In normal mode,
the part has to be a SOLID, VALID, SIMPLIFIED
.
In preliminary
mode design, the part could be SURFACE, NON VALID, NOT SIMPLIFIED.

Menu access: -
Description:
This command helps in orienting the part to its injection position in the mold.
General procedure:
Choose the positioning mode :
Select the part to position.
Possible modifications:
To move a part, please move its insertion
point or frame.
IT IS ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN
TO MOVE OR REORIENT THE PLASTIC PART BY ANY OTHER PROCEDURE THAN THE ONE
DESCRIBED HERE.
NEVER use:
Edit | Transform parents
Edit | Move parents
Shape | other operations | transform
Specific point(s) :
To better and easier control when moving the part
around we recommend to always position the part on a coordinates system.
Icon access: ![]()
Menu access : -
Description:
Allows to report the part modification during the mold design.
General procedure:
In normal mode, you can:
Use a "modification wizard" that helps you to update your mold design.
Manage a manual modification.
With the preliminary design mode :
Icon access: ![]()
Menu access: Part | Hole
Description:
Allows to automatically detect existing 'holes" in the part.
General procedure:
Select
a VISUALISATION that will show the result of
the detection operation on the part
and affected faces
.
If you find not
convenient the result of the automatic search use the tool MODIFICATION
.
When you have found a convenient result OK it. Exiting the function without OK the operation will not have any effect on the procedure. If you OK the searching result the system automatically will create solids corresponding to the holes that can eventually be joined to their corresponding cavity blocks.
Specific point(s):
The "no hole" part
is created when you insert the part to inject in the TopSolid'Mold document.
If you do not ask for the hole detection, "no
hole" part = part to inject. You need the "no hole"
part to imprint edges during the parting
lines creation, for example.
Available options:
The RESET
puts back the part to the initial state in which it was loaded.
Possible modifications:
While in the process of modification
you can manually Select a face and eventually
wait for the function to Look for neighbour faces.
Make sure to OK the selection once you are done.

Menu access: Part | Undercuts
Description:
This function will visualize the undercut zones in reference with the mold's Z axis (mold's opening direction).
General procedure:
Select between the Mode = CENTER and Mode = MESH
Adjust you angular tolerance. We recommend to use the value given by default in TopSolid'Mold.
Select the part to be analyzed.
Available options:
Once the analysis has been done the
results can be hidden by selecting Visible = NO
Icon access: ![]()
Menu access: Part | Drafts
Description:
This function will visualize zones with angular drafts in the part
General procedure:
Adjust the value for the angle of the draft. The function will show the drafts included between 0° and the selected value.
Select the part.
Available options:
Once the detection has been done
you can press ANALYZE FACES. By selecting the
analyzed face the system will return the angular value of the draft
.

Menu access: -Part | Projected area
Description:
This function will compute the projected area of the part.
General procedure:
Choose your computation resolution.
Select the part.
Select the projection direction.
