Description:

Allows to insert alimentation and its associated component, also hot runners system

Runner

Icon access:

Menu access: -

Description:

Allows to insert runner on curves.

General procedure:

1. Set the orientation following Z axis.

2. Ask if you need to get back an existing shape.

3. Select the type of the extremities.

4. Select the guiding curve or build  a NEW CONTOUR.

5. Select the runner profile.

Available modification(s):

With , you can:

OK : validate the runner

CURVE : modify the parameters or the type of the runner.

INVERS: invert the runner following Z axis.

Special remarks:

The guiding curve need to be planar, as for the swept surface in TopSolid'Design (please see the TopSolid'Design online help for further informations about this function).

Gate

Icon access:

Menu access : -

Description:

Allows to insert a gate.

General procedure:

1. Select the component to insert in the gate's table.

2. You can:

• Select a face dynamically or manually.

• Select a reference frame.

3. Set the angles of your gate.

4. Select the origin point.

5. The software computes the injection area. Enter the correct value.

6. COMPUTE.

7. VALIDATE. or select a NEW INJECT AREA.

8. Select another reference face or a reference frame to insert the same gate on other place, or click on OTHER to create a new gate.

Alimentation - Area

Icon access:

Menu access: Part | Alimentation | Area

Description:

Allows to compute the area of injection.

General procedure:

1. Select a gate trimmed to the part.

Available modification(s):

With on the gate, you can adjust its position and its parameters to get the required area.

Alimentation - Volume

Icon Access:

Menu access: Part | Alimentation | Volume

Description:

Allows to compute the volume present in the mold design.

General procedure:

1. Start the function. The system computes the informations linked to the alimentation.

Specific point(s):

The sprue bushing is not included in the calculation.

Alimentation - Link

Icon access:

Menu access: Part | Alimentation | Link

Description:

Allows to link existing runners.

General procedure:

1. Select the guiding curve.

2. Select the first runner.

3. Select the end runner.

4. The system computes the link.

Hot runner

Icon access:

Menu access: -

Description:

Allows to insert a hot runner body.

General procedure:

1. Select the reference face.

2. Select the positioning point .

Available components:

Runner skewer

Icon access:

Menu access: -

Description:

Allows to insert a runner skewer.

General procedure:

1. Select insertion face.

2. Select the limitation : NO LIMITATION, AUTOMATIC LIMITATION or select the extremum part for dimensioning.

The trimming modes are the same than for the ejector pins.

3. Select insertion point .

Available components:

Sprue bushing

Description:

Allows to insert a sprue bushing.

General procedure:

1. Select insertion face.

2. Select the end element to calculate the length of the component.

3. Select insertion point .

Available components:

Lock bushing

Description:

Allows to insert a lock bushing.

General procedure:

1. Select insertion face.

2. Select the end element to calculate the length of the component.

3. Select insertion point .

Available components:

Support bushing

Icon access:

Description:

Allows to insert a support bushing.

General procedure:

1. Select insertion face.

2. Select the reference component, to detect automatically the support diameter. If not, select OK.

3. Select insertion point .

Available components:

Runner lock pin

Description:

Allows to insert a runner lock pin.

General procedure:

1. Select insertion face.

2. Select the end element to calculate the length of the component.

3. Select insertion point .

Available components:

Sprue lock bushing

Allows to insert a sprue lock bushing.

General procedure:

1. Select insertion face.

2. Select the limitation : NO LIMITATION, AUTOMATIC LIMITATION or select the extremum part for dimensioning.

Allows to insert a body bush set.

General procedure:

1. Select the reference component or the insertion face in MANUAL mode.

2. Select the insertion point if you used the manual mode. Else, the component is centered on its reference component.
