Dialog box

Purpose

Create on one or several faces a cloud of points (blue points on the image below).

The method of creation of these points can be:

This function is associative. It is possible to modify the number of points and the intervals with the function Geometry | Modify meridians and parallels.

Every point can be measured with the function "Measurement | Points"

 

Understanding the function

During the definition of the number of points or the step, a visualization of the resulting points is made.

The Z axis of the selected frame has to be approximately the axis of rotation for the faces.

The origin and X axis of the selected frame serve of reference for the starting angles (angle of the first meridian and angle of the first point).

How to use

  1. Select the menu "Geometry | Meridians and parallels".

  2. Click on the frame to use for the points definition.

  3. Define one or several faces.

  4. A dialog box and a visualization of the result appear.  Modify some parameters if necessary and confirm to have the points.
