Purpose

The passes are made according to the predefined direction (usually horizontal direction), but these are decomposed according to a maximal distance (steps length)

It's also possible to apply a chip breaker on this tool path to cut along X (pass length) with either a temporization or a lead out movement.

Look at the following drawing.

To be able to use a good chip-breaker, the pass length value must be lower than the steps length
