Purpose

Take out, with a turn tool the volume of material that is between the solid representing the finish part and the solid representing the stock.

This machining consists of making cuts,

Of course, TopSolid'Cam takes into account:

Understanding the function

The rough cycle is a multiple cut cycle, where the depth of each cut is either constant or variable. The rough direction can be horizontal, i.e. parallel to the Z axis, vertical and thus perpendicular to the Z axis, parallel to a given direction or parallel to the finish part.

The TopSolid'Cam rough module removes all the material volume between the solids defined as stock and finished part. Naturally, this machining takes into account some stock to leave, the geometrical characteristics of the tool used: exterior or interior tool, plunge angle and forward angle HA/VA , left or right tool, rotation direction.

So, It's of course possible to machine in the Z+ or Z- direction.

How to use

  1. Select the menu "Turning | Turning | Roughing" or click on the    icon.

  2. If there are several parts, indicate the part to machine.

  6. Specify the different parameters in the tab dialogue box which appears.

  7. Enter the comment which appears on the machine block listing meant for the NC operator. This comment will also appear when the user wishes to take a look at or modify an operation, using the Operation/ Operations manager function.

  8. Eventually, enter a codified remark which will be interpreted by the post-processor, in a specific manner predefined by the user and the post-processor redactor.
