Define the angular parameters which enable TopSolid'Cam to calculate the shape contour of a revolution envelop showing protuberances and that should be machined with turning operations. As opposed to the function ‘Geometry / Revolution envelop solid ’, this function does not create the real machinable solid, as such, but a virtual solid on which the machining can base themselves.
In fact, here the user must tell to TopSolid'Cam where the part is not circular (cutting faces in critical areas like rectangular grooves, bosses, flat areas etc.). Indeed, by default, TopSolid'Cam use only one section for the calculation (0 degrees). If some others sections are not the same, the user must tell it to TopSolid'Cam.
Of course,
this function is needed only for Mill/Turn parts
The user can call this function when he wants. For example, if a machining is not good according to these sections, the user just has to add a section and regenerate the tool paths in automatic.
In the following example, 3 different cutting angles have been produced as well as the sections A, B and C. TopSolid'Cam merges the 3 sections to obtain the final shape contour.

Select the function "Turning | Revolution envelop definition".
Click on "New" button and input a numerical value or click on "Selection" button to select a graphical point on the model.
Validate entries made into the dialogue box by clicking on OK.
The addition of section asks for
the re-execution of the machining work process, but does not go to anybody
case to update the hatched zone defining the initial section of the part.
Indeed, this view is only a graphic view made according to the angle values
defined in "Part
/ Visualize / Use turning visualization / cut start and end angles".
