Optimization method

This list allows to choose method to be used for the optimization of the tool path.

Shortest path

TopSolid'Cam calculates the shortest path allowing the joining of all the holes corresponding to the selected operations.  If the “Starting Point” option is on automatic, the first point to be drilled is chosen to obtain the shortest path from that point.

XY ZIG

TopSolid'Cam favors moves according to an axis to limit positioning mistakes caused by certain machine’s combinations.  In such a case, TopSolid'Cam creates all the holes with the same X, by moving the Y-axis with an increasing value.

YX ZIG

TopSolid'Cam favors moves according to an axis to limit positioning mistakes caused by certain machine’s combinations.  In such a case, TopSolid'Cam creates all the holes with the same Y, by moving the X-axis with an increasing value.

XY ZIGZAG

TopSolid'Cam favors moves according to an axis to limit positioning mistakes caused by certain machine’s combinations.  In such a case, TopSolid'Cam creates all the holes with the same X, by moving the Y-axis, alternating an increasing and a decreasing value.

YX ZIGZAG.
