Purpose
This function is mainly meant for 3D machining on complex shapes and allows verification for several operations, via rest machining simulation for each of these operations. The result corresponds to the stock model state as it will be, once all selected operations are performed.

Understanding the function
TopSolid'Cam simulates rest machining for each operation from the stock model. A different color is automatically assigned to each tool; this allows the user to easily recognize each area machined by each tool. An area displayed in red means that a rapid move is used on the part (therefore, it is better if it is not displayed in red!).
Two modes are available through the “Verification” function. The first one is the “Launch” function and allows rapid passage to the final result. This is mainly meant for 3D machining operations which do not modify the current positioning.
The “Launch Simulation” function allows machining operations simulation. Moreover, this mode is based on a realistic model allowing machining operations’ simulation up to 5 axes.
2D operations can also be checked, using these two modes:
Attention:
The “Control” key allows the user to obtain dynamic rotation for the part
The “Shift” key allows the user to obtain dynamic translation for the part
The “Control” and “Shift" keys, when pressed simultaneously, allows the user to obtain a local enlargement (zoom).
How to use
Select the menu
‘Operations / Operations manager’ or click on
icon.
Select operations to be verified,.
Press the right mouse button to call the context sensitive menu.
Select the “Verify” option.
On the screen appearing, TopSolid'Cam’s part stock model is not transparent anymore, but appears opaque. This indicates that the “Visualization” mode is activated.
Press the right mouse button to call the following context sensitive menu:

Start result

Start result
This function is meant for 3D machining operations performed on a single positioning. This mode allows acceleration for updating operations’ calculations, by not presenting tool simulation during the machining phase, but by presenting the part’s state at the end of the operation. The user can eventually interrupt this updating operation by pressing the space bar and displaying the stock model’s current state, via a screen refreshing process.
Rewind to start
Allows to restore the initial stock. The user can thus check the modes again with new parameters.
Stock
Allows visualization for the part’s stock model.
Finish part
Allows finished part visualization.
Comparison
Compares the finished part with the current stock
model’s state. The
result is visualized with the help of a color code ranging from dark blue
to dark red. Color
coding is processed according to the comparison tolerance.![]()
tool path
Allows the machining operation’s tool path visualization.
Configuration
Allows access to the parameters of the verification
mode and to the tool’s color control mode ![]()
Quit
Allows leaving the “Verify” function.
Start animation

Start animation
This function is meant for 2 to 5 axes machining operations. This mode allows machining phase simulation. The user can eventually interrupt simulation, by pressing the space bar and by requesting the system to avoid updating rest material operations.
Stop
This function allows the user to stop the current process
Rewind to start
Allows to restore the initial stock. The user can thus check the modes again with new parameters.
tool path
Allows visualization for the part’s stock model.
Tool
Allows visualizing the tool during machining simulation .
Update views
Allows the user to activate or deactivate simulation in real time. Either simulation is visualized via the tool actually “eating’ the material, or simulation is blindly carried out (visualization will nevertheless display the tool path’s X, Y and Z coordinates). The user can interrupt simulation, by pressing the space bar to obtain the stock model’s state via visualization refreshing.
Configuration
Allows access to the parameters of the verification
mode and to the tool’s color control mode ![]()
Quit
Allows leaving the “Verify” function.
