Purpose

Create a 5 axis operation along a curve. The tool will always be orthogonal to a part along a curve. The objective is to keep the axis tool normal to the finish part  by developing axis A, B or C.

Understanding the function

The user has to define a curve which is already on the finish part. According to this curve, TopSolid'Cam calculates the normal on each point. After, of course, each normal is used to define the angles.

How to use

  1. Select the menu "Milling | 4/5 axis | 5 axis contour".

  2. If there are several parts, indicate the part to machine..

  3. Select the only tool (or change tool) which can be used for the machining operation.

  4. Click the curve(s) to use.

  5. Specify the different parameters in the tab dialogue box which appears. The operator must use this dialogue box to select the other faces to be swept.

  6. Enter the comment which appears on the machine block listing meant for the NC operator. This comment will also appear when the user wishes to take a look at or modify an operation, using the Operation/ Operations manager function.

  7. Eventually, enter a codified remark which will be interpreted by the post-processor, in a specific manner predefined by the user and the post-processor redactor.

  8. Validate entries made into the dialogue box by clicking on OK.
