This machining method automatically performs an operation on a part, which is made up of a set of faces. The method implies a series of contouring operations, of a degressive nature from top to bottom, according to a user defined pitch .
Furthermore, the undercut of the part is administered according to the shape of the tool.
It is possible to use better cutting conditions, with this method, and thus, obtain better productivity. The necessary cutting speed is respected since the tool rarely works on the tip. Moreover, the feed rate is constant since the tool only makes a descent move when there is a change of plane in Z.

The faces making up the block to be machined are cut by horizontal planes, parallel to the XY plane and between themselves, to take into account the tool’s corner radius value and the thickness to be left. A space equal to the machining pitch (pass depth) is found between each plane. The result thus obtained will be machined, using traditional 2D machining cycles, in this case, contouring operations.
Tools available
The available tools for this machining are the following ones. By default, these red values are defined in TopTool. These values can also be modified inside the function for the calculation.

Select the
menu "Milling | 3D operation | Undercut Z-Level" or click the
icon.
If there are several parts, select the part to be machined.
Select the tool (or change tool) which can be used for the machining operation.
Specify the different parameters in the tab dialogue box which appears.
Enter the comment which appears on the machine block listing meant for the NC operator. This comment will also appear when the user wishes to take a look at or modify an operation, using the Operation/ Operations Manager function.
Eventually, enter a codified remark which will be interpreted by the post-processor, in a specific manner predefined by the user and the post-processor redactor.
Validate entries made into the dialogue box by clicking on OK
