The parts to be machined are made up of a number of faces, with constantly increasing number. The parts’ complex geometry do not always allow iso parametric sweep machining. This machining type generates better quality tool paths, but nevertheless take a long time in becoming operative.
The Parallel Plan Technology mode allows tool path creation automatism, using the same method as the old copying machines’. The tool follows the numerical shape as a follower follows a wooden model ; the follower’s movements are locked according to an axis, to prevent the latter from moving in a plane other than the one perpendicular to the XY plane.

The model to be machined must have been defined as a solid. However, the resulting healed model may create one or several surfaces and not a solid. In such a case, there will be no processing difference, except for slightly longer calculation times.
The faces making up the model to be machined are cut by vertical planes, perpendicular to the XY planes and parallel between themselves, to take into account the tool’s corner radius value and the thickness to be left. A space of a value equal to the machining pitch is found between these planes.

Select the menu
"Milling | 3D operation | Finish operations" or click on the
icon.
If there are several parts, select the part to be machined.
Select the tool (or change tool) which can be used for the machining operation.
Specify the different parameters in the tab dialogue box which appears.
Enter the comment which appears on the machine block listing meant for the NC operator. This comment will also appear when the user wishes to take a look at or modify an operation, using the Operation/ Operations Manager function.
Eventually, enter a codified remark which will be interpreted by the post-processor, in a specific manner predefined by the user and the post-processor redactor.
Validate entries made into the dialogue box by clicking on OK
