Creates a radius on one or several sides’ edges for a part, using an assigned tool such as a radius-milling cutter (quarter circle milling cutter).
TopSolid'Cam advises a certain number of passes in Z, relative to the quantity of material to be removed and the cutting conditions of the tool called.

The topologic analysis engine searches for all sides adjacent to the selected side, so that a closed path is defined, when possible. The radiusing operation is similar to the contouring operation. The system offers a point in the middle of the user selected side as the radiusing operation’s starting point. This starting point, the type of lead in and lead out moves and the various descending modes can be modified when the operation is defined.
The algorithm also controls corners for which the minimum radius is smaller than the tool radius.
A radiusing operation implies descending moves into or outside the material! Several descending modes are available, relative to the tool the user chooses. For a vertical descent into the material, in rapid or work feed rate, the user can define a descent point or use one offered by TopSolid'Cam.
Topologic mode
Specify the model’s side to be machined.
Validate the “Radiusing” selection.
Choose the necessary tool for the operation.
This option is available when the topologic analysis engine detects one or several set of sides, with a circular section and identical radii, with flat center lines on the current positioning.
Automatic mode
Specify the contour on which a radiusing operation is to be performed. The contour can represent either the top or the bottom of the radius. Specify this parameter when choosing the contour and confirm material position, relative to the contour.
Specify value for the radius to be created.
Specify the side of the model to be created and on which the radiusing operation will be set or specify the altitude value with which the operation will be executed.
Choose the necessary tool for the operation.
The user can later click on the “Info” button to obtain information on the geometrical characteristics of the side to be created (surface area, minimum radius, total height, etc.).
