Removes all material along a vertical side, indicated by an open or closed profile, between two horizontal sides of the finished part.
This is an automatic function. In other words, the user must first specify the required operation, then, the operation will be done.
TopSolid'Cam advises a certain number of passes in Z, relative to the quantity of material to be removed and the cutting conditions of the tool called.

The selected profile is automatically and vertically extended to the stock model’s lowest and highest limits. The first pass is always created at the lowest Z level.
The algorithm also controls corners for which the minimum radius is smaller than the tool radius. In such a case, TopSolid'Cam generates rest material that will be automatically recognized by subsequent rework machining operations.
A contouring operation through shifting implies ascending moves into or outside the material! Several ascending modes are available, relative to the tool the user chooses.
Topologic mode
Specify the profile on which a contouring operation is to be performed.
Specify the side of the model to be created and on which the contouring operation through shifting will be set or specify the altitude value with which the operation will be executed. In this case, specify the highest side.
Choose the necessary tool for the operation
This option is available when the user selects the automatic “Contouring through Shifting” function
The user can later click on the “Info” button to obtain information on the geometrical characteristics of the side to be created (surface area, minimum radius, total height, etc.).
