Purpose

tool path calculation for a part requires part positioning on the machine.  A preset machine must be used to inform TopSolid'Cam of the various possibilities at its disposal.

Machine description gives the following data:

• translation and rotation axis definition

• travel definition

• tool change time

• position of machine elements, relative to one another

• number of cutter compensation available

• etc.
