Description:

This function allows meshes to be joined, irrespective of whether or not they are already assembled.

General principle:

Select the meshes that are to be assembled.

Optional point(s):

There is an optional facility for masking the meshes that were used to carry out this assembly.

Specific point(s):

The joining tolerance is automatically calculated according to the characteristics of the meshes to be assembled.

Mesh assembly can be used in the following two cases:

  1. Assembling assorted meshes: this allows you to assemble skin, volume and beam meshes into the same single mesh.

  2. Assembling several skin meshes.  In this case, it is better to have already defined the links on the edges where the meshes are to be assembled.  This is sometimes needed with imported geometries, for which the the common edges of several faces can have different geometric definitions.
