Description:
This function is for cutting the edges of a part (surface or volumetric).
![]()
General principle:
Select the mode for cutting the edges, using the
and
buttons.
Indicate the value of the average distance between the nodes (or the number of nodes per edge).
Designate the edges to be stitched.
Set the annotation text or click on
.
If required, refine some of the edges or faces (with an average distance or a node number).
Optional point(s):
For an edge refined by number of nodes, a geometric sequence can be
specified
.
Once this refinement has been created, the sequence direction can be reversed.
You
can ascertain at any time which edges have been refined by editing
the beam mesh in the symbolic tree ("Edit"
context-sensitive menu).
Specific point(s):
To carry out cutting on any linked edge, the cutting of the edge (or
the beam mesh) will act on the reference
edge geometry. This ensures that the nodes generated on
these edges match perfectly and that mesh assembly therefore poses no problems.
If an unrefined edge is linked to more than one face, and several of
these faces have refinements, it is the refinement of the face that
allows the greatest number of elements to be generated on this
edge that will be processed.
Edges involved in defining links cannot
be refined, the refinement thus being imposed by the link.
This function does not allow beam meshing.
Edge
cutting is shown by the color ORANGE. The color can be
configured, using the Tools | Options function.
