Description:

Allows degrees of freedom to be slackened on beam ends, thereby facilitating the modeling of different types of links between two beams.

General principle:

  1. Select the beam on which the degrees of freedom are to be slackened.

  2. Enter the translation and rotation slackening (use the and buttons to switch from one mode to the other).

  3. Select one of the beam's end points, or click on to assign this boundary condition to both ends.

  4. Set the boundary condition annotation text or click on .

Specific point(s):

Slackening of the degrees of freedom is represented by a register mark oriented as per the mark associated with the reference beam, on which each axis is cut by a circle for translation slackening, and surrounded by a circle for rotation slackening.

Slackening is put in "BOUNDARY CONDITIONS SET" at the time it is created, and can be edited at any time in the symbolic tree .
