This upgrade changes the order of the prompts and changes settings under the Cut Control tab. To see an example, open the file ..SCPRT/Samples/Edm - 4Axis.SCPRT. From the menus, click NC > Wire EDM, then choose 4 Axis. The program prompts,
“Select a Surface.”
After you select the surface, the program prompts,
“Select the thread point of the wire.”
After you select the thread point, the program prompts,
“Select cut point.”
Select where the cut begins on the contour. The operation dialog then appears. In the previous version, the program prompted you to select the thread point and cut point after you exit the operation dialog.
Notice that the settings under the 4 Axis, Cut Control tab are now consistent with the 2 Axis XY, Cut Control tab.
Retract Distance
This is the distance over which the compensation is attained. It is measured from the selected "Cut Point," toward the selected "Wire Thread Point."
