In the left pane, click System > Startup. The new option Startup Directory appears. This path defines where the system initially looks when opening and saving files.
File Open and Save As ignore the Startup Directory path if you define a Default Directory path under Tools > Options > Files > Paths. You can set a Default Directory path for each File Type.
Leave the Default Directory blank to Open and Save As to the current working directory.

In the left pane, click Files > Read. New options appear. See "Options" in Automatically Regenerate Toolpaths.
In the left pane, click Files > Read > Solid Works. New options appear. See "Options" in Full Associativity to Native SolidWorks Parts and Assemblies.
In the left pane, click Colors > Pallette or System. SURFCAM now uses the standard Windows color palette to choose colors.
In the left pane, click Display > System. The View Indicator Display Factor option controls the size of the new view indicators. Enter a factor of the SURFCAM window width. For example 0.05 makes each view indicator 1/20 of the window width.

In the left pane, click Display > Shading. The following new options appear. In previous version, these options appeared only under the menu pick Display > Shade > Options.
Single Color
If you chose the Shade using single color option, click this box to set the color.
Over Color
If you chose the Shade using surface colors option, click this box to set the color for the areas that are not undercut areas.
Under Color
If you chose the Shade using surface colors option, click this box to set the color for the areas that are undercut areas.
In the left pane, click Display > Toolpath. The following new option appears.
Check this option for a graphic display of the z level calculations.
This option does not affect the display of the toolpath.
This applies to SRM operations, and 3 Axis operations, such as Z Finish.
You may want to turn this option OFF for demonstrations so the viewer does not confuse the slices with the toolpath.

In the left pane, click NC Defaults > Operation Manager. The following new options appear.
Show Machine Datum Number with Setup Section Name
Check this box to list the Machine Datum number with operations in the Operations Manager.
Show Machine Datum Description with Setup Section Name
Check this box to list the Machine Datum name operations in the Operations Manager.
Show Tool Description with Operation Name
Check this box to list the Tool Description from the Select Tool Information dialog with operations in the Operations Manager.
Show CView Description with Operation Name
Check this box to list the CView name with operations in the Operations Manager. For example, Cview Top view.
In the left pane, click Create > Surfaces. The following new options appear.
Prompt to Create Boundaries when Untrimming Surfaces
If checked, the following question appears after you use Edit > Surfaces > Untrim to untrim a surface,
Create Trim Boundaries?
Click the YES button to untrim the surface and create the original trim boundaries.
Click the NO button to untrim the surface without the original trim boundaries.
Default Trimming Mode
The default trimming mode defines what method is ready to use when you trim a surface.
From the menus, click Tools > Options.
