Choose this option if you are sharing the database with users of a previous version of Microsoft® Access. You will still be able to use the database with previous versions.
You will be able edit the values in the table, but not change the structure of the table, or add tables.
Microsoft® Access might display a dialog box that says
You can’t make changes to the database objects in the database . . . .

This means that you cannot make changes to the properties of tables, nor can you add tables. However, you can edit the contents of table cells.
The message then tells you how to convert this database to the current version of Microsoft® Access.
Close the database.
In Microsoft® Access, click Tools > Database Utilities > Convert Database > To Current Access Database Version.
