Digitizer Tool List Box
This list box displays the available tools from the digitizer tool library. The tool reference number and description appear in the list. Selecting a tool in the list selects its parameters for the next digitizer operation. You can change any of these tool parameters in the text fields of this dialog box before selecting the OK Button. Tool parameter changes affect only to the current operation, and are not saved in the digitizer tool library.
Digitizer shares the same data structure as mill tools. Parameters not actually relevant to defining the digitizer can usually be set to zero, e.g. number of flutes. The digitizer tool parameters which may be changed are:
Total Height
The height of the digitizer from the tip to the end of the shank.
Shank Radius
The radius of the digitizer at the shank.
Taper Angle
The angle between the edge of the digitizer and the axis of rotation. This is zero when the edge and the axis are parallel.
Flute Height
Generally does not apply to a digitizer, can be zero.
Tip Radius
The tip or corner radius of the digitizer.
Total Radius
The total radius of the digitizer.
Number of Flutes
The number of flutes on the digitizer. Generally does not apply, can be zero.
