These options apply to "Solidworks Parts and Assemblies" under Associativity with Native CAD files.
Display Options Each Time a SolidWorks File is Read
If checked, these options appear each time SURFCAM reads a Solid Works part or assembly file.
Part/Assembly Units
Set this to the units of the Solid Works part or assembly file. SURFCAM scales the file as needed.
Read Solid Bodies
If checked, SURFCAM reads the surfaces from the Solid Works file.
Body Color
Click the color button to change the color of surfaces created from imported bodies.
Place Assembly Components on Separate Layers
If checked, the SURFCAM places each component on a separate layer. SURFCAM begins with the first available layer. Each layer uses the component name.
Single Part Layer
This is the number of the layer that receives the single part bodies.
Read Wireframe Geometry
If checked, SURFCAM reads the wireframe geometry from the Solid Works file.
Wireframe Geometry Color
Click the color button to change the color of the geometry created from the imported wireframe geometry.
Place Assembly Geometry on Separate Layers
If checked, the SURFCAM places each component's geometry on a separate layer. SURFCAM begins with the first available layer. Each layer uses the component name.
Single Part Geometry Layer
This is the number of the layer that receives the single part geometry.
Add Centerlines and Points to Cylinder
Check this option to create centerlines and points at every cylinder.
Projection Method
Set to UV to use 2D space curve boundary. Set to XYZ to use a 3D space curve boundary
Projection Tolerance
This controls the projection accuracy used to create trimming boundary.
Repair Bodies
Check to trim degenerate surfaces by the amount specified by Trim Body Edge.
Repair Tolerance
This value is used to determine if the surface is degenerate or not.
Trim Body Edge
This is the trim value used to fix degenerated surface.
Check for design changes
Check the Check for design changes option to enable a warning message that tells of changes to a SolidWorks file opened in SURFCAM. Click YES to update the model in SURFCAM.
In SURFCAM, open a SolidWorks file (.SLDPRT).
In SolidWorks, modify that
same file and save the file.
Return to SURFCAM. Check the Check for design
changes option to make the following message appear.
Design Change Detected
Original file: file path
name has been modified. Update current model?
(YES/NO).
Click YES
to update the model in SURFCAM to match the modified SolidWorks file.
Click NO to leave the SURFCAM model unchanged.
Clear the Check for design changes
option to suppress the above message and leave the SURFCAM model unchanged.
