Six parameters contain values that are tied together with formulas: Spindle Speed, Feed Rate, Plunge Rate, Surface Speed, Feed Chip Load, and Plunge Chip Load.
These formulas contain tool and material related values from the following fields of the Tool Library and the Material Library: Tool Diameter, Surface Speed, Chip Load Per Flute, Number of Flutes, and Chip Load Factor. When a new tool is selected, the tool and material related values in the formulas will be replaced by the corresponding values for the new tool.
Auto
If the box next to Auto is checked, the six parameters on the Tool Information tab will automatically be recalculated and displayed when you change tools.
Calculate Speeds
If the Auto box is not checked, click the Calculate Speeds button to cause the parameters to be recalculated and displayed.
You can override any of these six calculated values by entering your own values in the boxes. When changes are made in some boxes, the values in other boxes will be dynamically changed as the new value is entered. After you have made such a change you can return the values of these parameters to their original default values by clicking Calculate Speeds.
