If SURFCAM detects a potential gouge in a plunge or lead move, the move is either trimmed or discarded. Click Yes to display a Warning dialog box that indicates a change has been made in a plunge or lead move. SURFCAM will display a second window showing the specific moves that have been trimmed.

There are three categories of changes that are reported: shortened less than 50%, shortened more than 50% and completely discarded. On the toolpath, when Display Plunge Changes is set to Yes, lead moves shortened by less than 50% are displayed in yellow while those shortened more than 50% are displayed in red.

In plunge moves, if the value entered (in the Plunge Information dialog box) for the Radius / Length of a Helical / Ramp move is greater than 10 times the tool radius, the move is trimmed to 10 times the tool radius.
