In either of the two methods, all of the material in one area is removed before SURFCAM moves to another area to remove rest material.
Contour Cut
The tool will plunge off to the side of the rest material. The center of the tool will then move to the halfway point along the boundary of the rest material. It will then work its way into the material as it removes it. This is the preferred rest material cutting method.
Pocket Cut
The tool will plunge off to the side of the rest material. It will then move into the center of the material and work its way outward as it cuts the material.
