SURFCAM SolidWorks OneStep lets you export a SolidWorks file to SURFCAM. If you modify the file in SolidWorks, SURFCAM recognizes the change and lets you regenerate cutting operations for the modified part.

To install the SURFCAM export utility, insert the SURFCAM CD. This autoruns the SURFCAM Installation Manager. Click the button next to SURFCAM SolidWorks OneStep and complete the installation instructions.

1. Design a part in SolidWorks, and save the part file.

2. From the Windows Start menu, or from your Windows Desktop, start SURFCAM.

3. From the SolidWorks SURFCAM menu, click Launch SURFCAM.
   
   

4. Inside SURFCAM, create a cutting operation on the imported geometry, and save the file again.

5. Change the part in SolidWorks. For example, change the radius of a fillet.

6. Click Launch SURFCAM to export to SURFCAM again. In SURFCAM, click YES in the dialog box to "Overwrite Existing Geometry."

7. In SURFCAM, open the Operations Manager. The green circle next to the operation is now red to indicate the geometry changed. Right-click the cutting operation and click Regenerate with Original Geometry.
   
   

8. Click the Continue Regeneration button.

9. Change any operation dialog settings and click OK. The toolpath changes automatically to accommodate the changed part.

10. The Launch SURFCAM command creates a permanent association between the SolidWorks file (.SLDPRT) and SURFCAM, even if you save a copy of the .SLDPRT file under a different name. If you need a copy of the .SLDPRT file dissociated from SURFCAM, save the copy .SLDPRT file before you click the Launch SURFCAM command.
